Privacy Policy

KashiVeda ("we", "us") operates the KashiVeda website, web app and mobile apps (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We are committed to handling your data — including the sensitive birth details used for astrology — with care.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (stored hashed), role.
- Birth & astrology data: date, time and place of birth you enter to generate Kundali charts. This is treated as sensitive personal data and used only to compute and store your charts.
- Booking & transaction data: rituals/courses/reports you book, schedules, and payment references. Card details are handled by our payment processor (Razorpay) — we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage & device data: app interactions, device/push tokens (if you enable notifications), and basic logs for security and reliability.
3. How we use it
- To provide the Service: generate charts, fulfil bookings, deliver courses and reports.
- To process payments and issue confirmations/receipts.
- To send transactional emails and (if enabled) notifications.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
4. Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service — currently our payment processor (Razorpay) and email provider (Brevo) — and with the pandit assigned to a booking (limited to what is needed to perform it). We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information where required by law.
5. Astrology data stays on our servers
Charts are computed in-house on our own servers; your birth details are not sent to any third-party astrology API.
6. Retention
We keep account, chart and transaction data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal/accounting requirements. You can request deletion (below).
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Email privacy@kashiveda.org and we will respond within a reasonable period.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and other measures. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction).
10. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be notified in-app or by email.
